    Description
    FR-2201 Mini Fast Ethernet Media Converter is a Fast Ethernet stand-alone Mini media converter that provides cost effective, entry-level media conversion between 10/100Base-TX ports and 100Base-FX ports. With its fixed configuration, deployments are just plug-and-play, and with its small size, it is ideal for locations where space is limited. 10/100Base Fiber Media Converter, SFP Fiber Media Converter, Options in single mode dual fiber, multimode dual fiber and single mode single fiber.
    We also supply Media Converter Chassis, the 1U height 12 slots media converter rack mount chassis specially designed for accommodating chassis-based mini Media Converters.

    Basically, media converters are simple devices that are used to connect two devices or LANs that are not fully compatible, due to different speeds, types of operation, modes or types of media (twisted pair, fiber, coaxial cable). The most common use is the integration of fiber optic segments in copper networks This gives you the possibility to extend your Ethernet network beyond the limit of 100 meters imposed by the copper cable.
    Media converters can be used anywhere in the network to integrate new technologies into existing equipment, to support new applications, technologies and future growth. Instead of making expensive updates, media converters can extend the productive life of existing wiring.

    ADVANGAGES OF MEDIA CONVERTERS
    Extend the distances of your LAN using fiber.
    Ethernet connections that use copper cable are limited to the data transmission distance of 100 meters using UTP cable. By using an Ethernet to fiber conversion, fiber optic cabling allows you to extend this link over distances of up to 80km.
